As of May 2017, all Blue Badge Protectors will have the new longer cable. Feedback from customers stated that the current cable was too short for some cars. Various cars have larger gaps between the steering wheel and dashboard. This caused problems balancing the Protector to ensure the badge is visible. The new cable increases the size from 1 metre to 1.8 metres which we hope will aid all users to prevent these problems and aid the ease of use of the protector.
Video story about Haji Ahmed, 90, who has limited mobility, had his blue badge stolen from his son's car. His son Waleed Butt, from Chigwell, Essex, had taken Mr Ahmed out for a meal and parked his car legally in a disabled bay. His car window was smashed and the badge stolen while they were away. He was also given a £100 parking ticket. Mr Butt said: "It's just unfair that disabled people are being targeted in this way - it's disgusting."
